Post tricks

I am been trying to teach my pony to bow. I have taught him to bend down, but can't figure out how to cue
him to bow down. I have started to touch his leg and say leg to try and teach him to know to bow.
Would like some input.

I dunno if this is exactly what your asking, but when I taught my mare to bow I got a dressage (or short buggy) whip and would stand there and tap tap tap while saying 'bow' until my horse even LOOKED like she was gonna shift or pick her leg up then immediately stopped tapping and praise. Eventually you can work it up to where you tap she lifts foot and they bow.

Tho, now, I have just taught her to do it from me tapping her fetlock with my toe and then taking her leg and pulling back until she touches her nose to her off leg. I haven't progressed to the full knee on the ground bow.
Hope this helped a wittle!

girl at my barn is workign with her horse. She uses a treat. If he wants his treat, he has to reach back, between his legs, as far as he can go to his belly and back. It makes them get into the right position too. When he shifts his weight down, she gives it to him. Depending on the step. She started at the knees, getting him to drop his head.

Only issue, he'll nip at you for a treat. But he's coming around to Bow. She also says BOW when she shows him the treat...

What type of bow are you wanting?
The 'Obeisance'?

If that is the type of bow you want here is how to teach it:
Teaching the 'Obeisance'

That is the basic "First Trick" you teach and then use it to go on and teach others!
Also for other tricks and information on teaching them check out: Allen Pogue Trick Training
