Trav roaning??? Can it be?

Trav is a 6 yr old chestnut TWH. When I bought him, he had white hairs on either side of his whithers, I assumed from a poorly fitting saddle.

Now he has white hairs all over his body. No more than 2 or 3 hairs in one place, but just mixed in lightly and consistently with the chestnut. He has a star on his forehead, now he has white hairs on his face too.

Is it possible he's roaning? Or greying? I know you can't ride color, but sheesh! I like chestnut!

He's grade, so I have no idea what his parentage is.

Yep, it can. Polly has a few white hairs sprinkled through, not unusual.

I rode a 12 year old chestnut arab that had white hairs mixed evenly through his whole coat. He never got more or less of them. I wouldn't have called him a roan though. He was just frosted!

I think it might be ticking (I think that is what it is called) They just get white hairs here and there. I have seen a chestnut do that.

Thanks guys! "Frosted" or ticking I can live with. Here's hoping he's as frosted (and ticked ) as he's gonna get.

RimRock who is chestnut or sorrell.....??? But in the RHH World he is Red Chocolate......anyway....He is getting sprinkled through out his body with white hairs. He's 12 years old. Don't know if age has anything to do with it.
