The bridle issue is a HUGE problem Grand, same with the saddle, but standing in the trailer, Nope, not a problem in my book.

Even for 2-3 hours. I went on a 13 hour trip with my horse. He never left the trailer. Though I learned my lesson that after 8 with him, to stop for the night, especially in a straight and not a slant. The last time we moved, it took about that long, and we took our time. Stopped for breakfast and lunch, spend an hour at each. no biggy. He never left the trailer till we reached our destination.

NOT ALL WESTERN PEOPLE DO THAT! I have seen some STUPID english rider do that!

I never tie my horses when they have a bit on, and I always tack them up after the trailer ride. And Untack them before trailer ride! STUPID PEOPLE!

Cowgirl, no one said just Western riders do that. I've seen Jumpers saddle their horses in the trailer.

Hauling with a saddle on the horse is most dangerous when loading and unloading. Parts of the saddle can get caught on the trailer causing the horse to get hung up. Even the newer trailers with padded butt bars protrude and make an easy place for the saddle to snag on. Also, while hauling down the road the horse will lean to gain balance. It wouldn't feel too good to lean against a stirrup or girth buckle.

I Agree! I'm even scared to put shipping boots and rugs on grande or misty. To many things could go wroung. I could just imange saddles and bridles!

I am lucky to get mine in the trailer with just a halter. Why complicate it with a saddle and more? Ugh. Sometimes you wonder what goes on in other people's heads
