Tradgic- My Royal Lark Has Passed Away.

My Royal Lark, AQHA stallion, put to rest

My Royal Lark, 11 year old registered American Quarter Horse Association stallion and son of AQHA Super Horse Rugged Lark, was euthanized due to complications from lymphoma at 10:30 am, February 16th, at Fox Grove Farm in Ocala, Florida.

"Wills" was diagnosed with lymphoma in September of 2004. "Unfortunately there were no options to treat Wills for this type of cancer. He did not know he was sick, and I was able to ride him every day until one month ago. He was happy, eating well, playing in his pasture, and always showing his incredible charisma! On the 15th of February, Wills showed signs of discomfort and no desire to eat," said Lynn Palm, co-owner and trainer.

My Royal Lark followed in his sire's hoof prints performing in bridleless musical exhibitions across the United States and winning the hearts of horse lovers everywhere. With his rider Lynn Palm, Wills radiated happiness and confidence using Palm Partnership Training™ dressage principles performing bridleless to the song "Hero" by Mariah Carey. "Wills" and Palm received standing ovations for their exhibitions at Equine Affaire - Columbus, Ohio, Pennsylvania Horse World Expo, and the Florida Equestrian Celebration. Wills’ performances honored the Rugged Lark Legacy and demonstrated the versatility, willingness, and charisma of the American Quarter Horse trained with a foundation of dressage principles.

My Royal Lark's show ring successes were unprecedented with championships in three national equine associations. Wills was an incredible hunter, western performance horse, and dressage horse. His AQHA show record lists 167.5 points in 7 events. Wills earned championships in Working Hunter in United States Equestrian Federation competitions, AQHA championships in Trail and Western Riding, and championships in United States Dressage Federation competitions. Wills qualified for the AQHA World Championship Show and was top 10 in several events. He also qualified for the 2004 USDF Regionals in Level 1 and Level 2 but was unable to compete last October due to his illness.

Wills was bred by Carol Harris, Reddick, FL, co-owned by Mary Byers, Saukville, WI, and Lynn Palm, and for the last 5 years co-owned by Palm and Patricia Crang, Ocala, FL. Palm credits the following trainers for their assistance in developing Wills’ talents: General Training: Bill Horn and Frank Barnett; Educational Events and Breeding Management: Marie-Frances Davis; Hunter Events: Shane George, Alfred Hewitt, and Scott Hofstetter; Dressage: Jane Savoie; Trail: Tim Kimura. "At eleven years young, My Royal Lark was just beginning his career. His legacy will live on in his foals. He has a few wonderful babies on the ground, and there will be a limited number of foals to come, since we have frozen semen stored. Wills promised that his kids will continue being HEROES for the "Lark" bloodlines," notes Palm.

That is really sad and is a shame.. I guess God needed him for something else, which is understandable because he is so perfect..
