Quick run of the story first

A friend knows the owner of camelot auction in NJ. He had been there the past weds and said lots of horses didnt sell. He made the call to frank and asked if we could bring two trailors down and take what we could. He said no prob just pay me what the meat guys offered. So we said sure we're leaving now lol.

When we got there almost all of the horses were lame, wich in thought was why they were there. The first horse i grabbed was the first horse that i saw out of the corner of my eye before they even ran them in the barn. Diesel, paid $650 (i named him that) black and white and fat. Second horse i picked out was a rack of bones that could barley walk , Ginger, paid $375. third was a dun with a big nasty gash on his hind leg ,paid $375 and third was an ouchy looking cross bred mare paid $275 . My gf took 4 others as well.

Got them all home decided we were keeping diesel and ginger and were going to find Kody (dun) and star (xbred) homes. After about 2 months we got them homes. Kody is now a western pleasure horse re-named Remmington and star is being re-trained and re-named Sienna.

Now onto my girls story. this i did not know untill this past week when i dug and dug and dug on the internet to find her . She was a broodmare after a few starts and had 7 babies . Untill she could no longer conceive and he got rid of her .

Ginger has a very odd build for a tb . Shes proven VERY VERY HARD to put weight on . Shes always had free choice hay , and grain 2 - 3 x a day and beet pulp AND cool calories.

Well i hope you all read this =p heres the pics

this is 24 hrs later being we got back at 11pm

Trying to get her plump for the winter . You all know that its the hardest to put weight on a horse in the winter i think thats why i had such a hard time when i first got her . She was always blanketed too . Shes a completley changed horse .. she used to rear , not let me pick her feet , bite, now . .. shes an angel wouldent trade her for anything =D

I used to go to Camelot all the time as a kid. You know where a lot of the horses they sell there come from? Here in KY/TN. From what I've been told his son comes and picks up trailer loads of them. There are also a bunch of guys that go to the really bad auctions around here who buy them up at about $25 a pop then take them up north to Camelot and New Holland and get more for them.

Back to the subject...What an amazing difference a year makes. Looking very good!

CJnBucksMom...learn something new everyday. I had no idea that the horses came to Camelot from that far away. I wish I knew where my Sienna came from, as she is one of the horses that Michelle rescued on that day. Thank you, Michelle. She is my love.

As Michelle knows, Sienna and I have had our ups and downs, but I wouldn't trade the last 10 months for anything.

This was her when Michelle rescued her, the ouchy for a reason cross bred mare. Whoever had this horse prior did nothing for her feet and they split from bottom to top.

This is her today
