What is thrush? I saw it mentioned in another thread and i dont know wat it is.

Thrush is a bacterial infection of the frog. It smells bad and looks nasty. Read this link for more info: http://www.equus.com/pages/thrush_copy.htm

Gosh a basic description of what you see is black, almost as though their foot is rotting (BAD description I know), caused by too much moisture! SMELLS BAD!!! Easy enough to identify for that stuff....copportox will make it go away but stain ur clothes/shoes green so carefull! lol

someone else will do a better description I bet

It blows my mind that there are people out there who don't know what thrush is. Lucky you! It's a pretty common thing to have your horse suffer with thrush all winter up here in the Wet Coast.

hahaha the wet coast pretty funny
oh yea see we need rain down here lol we dont have a problem with rain rot or thrush but yall prob dont have a prob with heat stroke-none of my horses have bt i know some that have
