Thoroughbred Stallions

I can't find any paint/QH/ or even Appaloosa studs that I would consider crossing Baby to. Dad told me to start looking into the thoroughbreds. This isn't what I wanted, I didn't want a Paint/Thoroughbred cross but like Dad said, it'll add some leaness to the foal, height, and more athleticism.
So I'm picky. VERY picky. I'm looking into race WINNERS who have a pretty decent race record. Retired sound. And yes, the studs pedigree means EVERYTHING to me. No fool to race Thoroughbreds.
So here they are.

1) DreamHorse.com Horse ID: 933017
2) DreamHorse.com Horse ID: 758859
3) DreamHorse.com Horse ID: 794225
I just like this guys breeding. Something throws me off on his confo.
4) DreamHorse.com Horse ID: 922682
I know this guy and have seen him in person. They are picky on their mares they breed to. I can pull some strings. He is my choice, for his confo and his breeding and the fact he's close to me and I've seen him in person.

Here's the girl. I'm looking for a barrel horse. Something that will stand in halter but also go out and run, much like Baby has already proven can happen.

If you're going to want to halter on a Paint level, I wouldn't be looking at anything that's lean, especially TB. And it certainly doesn't guarantee that the foal will be any more athletic just because of the TB in it. Who have you looked and in the way of Paint/QH studs and why didn't you like them?

I don't like them because they are ALL built downhill and they have that post legged look going on with them. I've found some ropers, reiners, cutters but their pedigrees don't spell out anything I want to do.
And I'm not going to halter on the Paint level. Just open show halter.
Baby is my APHA halter mare.
The foal I want to do barrels with, but also have the confo (not build) just confo for halter.

The foal will be SPEED.

So now, back to my op, go for the studs. Pick them apart.
Which ones and why.

How about: Park Lane Ranch - Yellow Creek Poster

He retired sound from racing, he won over $100K. He has been eventing since. He's got a super sweet dispostion. He's approved JC, CSHA, and AQHA.

Here's some pics of my little girl out of him:

Lord she is fast!

What exactly are you looking for in the pedigrees? You've picked 4 very different genetic backgrounds.

There are a LOT of horses that will easily fit what you need in the QH/Paint world. As for the posty leg look.... you need to LOOK at the horse. I can make a sickle hocked horse look posty based on how you stand it and the angle it's viewed from. Still want to know WHO you've looked at. It would at least give some of us a place to start in finding something that could work for you.

just wondering why you want to breed your halter paint mare to a Tb if you want to do some halter. You should look back into the Paints/Qh to bring into her pedigree. If you are looking for taller and thinner, there is MUCH of that out there in the QH/PAINT world.with speed to add. We have a nice Black and White Overo Stud (Paint) that is a great Grandson of SMART LITTLE LENA.. his sire is a big barrell racer in the USA right now, and competeing successfully. He also has the halter look and competed and won.
There are tons of nice paint studs out there that would suit your pretty mare with great conformation...
good luck

Yep, Painte-Girl's right. I just looked up some barrel stallions (AQHA) and they were correct and proven in the barrel world either as a sire or earner and had pretty good SI's too.
