Not sure if I would breed to a race bred stallion. If you do be very picky on the confo and temperament. Many racing Tb's aren't the best confo wise and some are not very sane either.

I would also look into horses that are winning in sprints. This will give you a horse that has the power to go fast immediately which will be better if you want to do gaming or probably roping I would think.

Oh and you should know that good racing Thoroughbred stallions stud fees are astronomical.

Ok so what kind of foal do you want out of Babe? Because I am uber bored and will look for stallions for you... paint QH appy Tb... whatever you want.

The first 2 I'd consider if I could see more pictures and see them move. They look like WB stallions - substance.

The last 2 I wouldn't consider - they are too TB-y looking, finer boned. #3 picture is a horrible picture to judge any horse by. #4 doesn't look like stallion material all, and he looks quite straight behind.

I agree though, there are a LOT of Paint stallions who are the athletic type that would suit you. Many of these do have a good deal of TB blood.

Okay if you're up to it, find me some paint stallions and QH stallions with level backs, good legs, and a pedigree to boot.
Because I can't find any...
Thoroughbreds too.
The Appendixes are kicking butt in barrels right now.
Though I didn't want an appendix but I've finally found one I LIKE (not a stud, a nice mare) and am hoping when crossed with a thoroughbred right Baby can throw one. But she's a pretty thick girl.

Baby has some thoroughbred back there in her lines too. Never realized that until I started digging. Maybe that's where her speed comes from?

Yeah I heard Appendixes are doing well. I am starting Dreamer on Barrels right now actually(shes full thoroughbred). She is more sprint bred which helps her out as well.

I will do my best!

I had NO idea that Appendix's were doing well on the barrels right now ... live and learn, huh?!

Okay - lets throw Guaranteed Gold into the mix as well - 16.1hh cremello TB stallion so you would 100% get a dilute foal from the cross:

he has a BIG rear end on him and its a trait that he tends to pass on to his offspring as well!

and an Appendix foal by GG at 4 months:

(Faux Finish - TB filly - as a 2 year old)

Let me know if I can assist at all and good luck in your search!

Personally, I wouldn't consider either of those two stallions that JB listed for breeding a speed horse. If I were you, I'd start a search with APHA's racing stallions. The Treasured horses are a place to start. Check APHA's site and see if they have any Paint/QH racing at a track near you. We run Paints/QH here in the spring at Turf paradise and getting a hold of one of those trainers would be an excellent place to start.

I would think it would be hard to beat a QH/Paint at barrels. Remeber that a QH is the fastest horse in the 1/4 mile. I wonder if it isn't finding an optimum stride length between the barrels so they can go right into the turns (taller horse=less strides)...

If you are going TB definately want a sprint start horse.

I still don't see what you are refering to with the pedigree.

Woohoo, what a booty! There's a pinup for the mares at home. Ruby and GG would make a nice little Buckskin.
