Thomas has a cough.

My Thomas has always had a low grade cough. Sometimes when I start to ride (esp. in a dusty arena) he coughs once/twice and doesn't cough again. He's been looked at by two vets previously and they found nothing 'wrong' with him.

Recently I heard him cough in his paddock, and then yesterday but it was a series of coughs this time.

He doesn't go off the farm, and there hasn't been any new animals on tne farm for over a year, and he's the only horse that coughs. We are the only farm on the 'block' (closest horse is 2 miles away). Everyone is on a regular worming schedule, and is getting good quality (low dust) hay and is out on pasture most of the time now.

I worried that it has gone from a single cough when in a dusty environment to a series of coughs with no obvious trigger. Maybe a mold in the barn? Any thoughts?

Well if it was only a one time series of coughs it could just be he got an irritation or swalled a bit funny etc... if he's done this serveral times then I would start to worry/wonder about the possibility of COPD or Heaves.

Talking

The horses I ride they cough all the time my trainer says they could just have inhaled something funny like a bug of dirt but sometimes its because they aren't warmed up enough because they trot around or something
