Clipping (I clipped EVERYTHING except for two legs that she did, and I didn't even ask her to): 25.00

4 Half-Hour Lessons: 150.00
Supplements (that I did not ask her to give): 15.00
Board for the Two Weeks: 272.00

Naturally I decided to bring him home, and that cost me 48.00. We live less than 15 miles away.

Grand Total came to $1,140.50
I am going to throw my non-show horse sense in here. Even I thought this was outrageous and don't show.

Sounds to me like she is charging you for 75% of the gas
3 Horse Show Coaching: 240.00
I don't know about this if it was three classes then it seems steep to me
Motel Charge (all four of us in one room): 150.00
How much was this room? 600.00 a night? Good god, were you at the Hilton?
Clipping (I clipped EVERYTHING except for two legs that she did, and I didn't even ask her to): 25.00
I would take this off or break your horse into sections and pay her that
One Hour Lesson: 50.00
4 Half-Hour Lessons: 150.00
She is charging you more for shorter lessons? I would nix this also and base it on the hourly charge, 1/2 the time is 1/2 the pay.
Supplements (that I did not ask her to give): 15.00
Did she have your persmission to give them regardless, is it in your contract. Personally I would not pay this at all if you did not ask
Board for the Two Weeks: 272.00
F*F*F)S*F*S! Good God, ****! For two weeks of board? My barn prorates. Break it down by the day.

I didnt do the math, but this line in on her website scares me...

Trust Winterfield....

It's not how much we know, it's how much we care....

I'm sorry, but if I was going to pay that much to a trainer, they'd better know alot!

That would be the norm. for a Gold/some Silver shows...two weeks and 4 lessons if it included the schooling at the show.

Ok I added up the math like 3x and I came up with 1044.50 and 1092.50 w/ her taking the horse home you may want to talk to her because she has more money due than what she has accounted for. It may be a mistake or it may be a little greed in there

I would send her the bill back, crossing out the things that you did NOT ask for her to do (suppliments and the clipping).. as well as writing on there that two of the lessons were not "private" that you rode with others in it as well.

If she is going to nickle and dime you, I would do the same right back as she is not accounting everything correctly.

$150 for the motel.. is that YOUR portion? Casey and I have paid less than that for the two of us for that same amount of time.

I don't charge my BO extra to ride/train Molly in training shows.. he hauls and pays for the classes and fees but he isn't charged for my time.

In Mississippi you could have bought a used 2 horse bumper pull trailer and still boarded your horse for that amount.

Thank God I can use a trailer of my grandfathers, steal my husbands truck, work for the trainer and get free advice.

So when you guys say training board, you mean that you pay a flat rate for the board as well as a certain number of lessons? My trainer charges for each of those separately.

Around here "Training Board" is the cost of board and a certain number of lessons. At least, that's how I've seen it, not Training Board + Training....that seems a bit redundant.
