What caliber is your trainer?

Seems high to me.

I added that up to be 1092.50.

And she charged you 3.20 to bring him home? Well if you count both ways, it's 1.60. She shouldn't charge you for her to go home though, since your horse wasn't in the trailer.

That's what I thought too. She charged for both ways, and I forgot to add on the list when she brought him to the barn the first time. So that's the missing amount.

That's not far off some of the fees I've seen. It can get really expensive, really fast (although it's a little cra.ppy of her to nickel and dime you for some of that stuff, IMO).

I just added it up, plugging in what my fees would have been at my show barn... that would have cost me $950, assuming the show was in town. More like $1100 if it was a couple hours away. So, not far off what your bill is.

http://www.winterfieldfarms.com/Home.html

This is her webpage. I'm not even sure what all she has accomplished when she was riding and showing...she's a good enough trainer I suppose. Really, the only reason she's my trainer is because there aren't many around.

Wow, that as high as my property tax

Her website says 1/2 hour lessons are 30.00 with your own horse. And you got 4 of them. ... and that doesn't = 150.00

She marked them down as being 'private' lessons, though I know they weren't all private because I rode with the two other girls that I show with for at least two lessons. So, maybe she charged more for them being 'private'?

There's nothing there that totally unreasonable to my eye. It's appropriate to split motel charges for the trainer between all clients.

She should absolutely be charging for empty miles to get her truck & trailer back home after she drops your horse off. For short hauls, it's appropriate to ask for a flat fee to make it worth her while to hook up.

Around here, you'd pay the same. If i showed with one of the trainers in my area, It may be more. BUT, he is a wicked trainer, and has amazing results.
