88, why is it that near the poll, Timmy's mane still flops to the other side? Do I need to thin it more in that spot?

Many of our horses naturally want to have their mane flop up near the poll. Try keeping that section braided nice and tight to help encourage it to lay over.

This is SUCH a great post, I'm going to bump it up again for all the new people - especially because it just happens to be the time of year when many of us are bringing our ponies in from winter pasture and spiffing them up the get back into training! (Or maybe I speak only for myself??)

I never did try this in the winter, but today, unless I go into labour (I am one day overdue), I will give it a shot! I'll post before and afters if it turns out ok...oh ya, assuming I can find thinning shears somewhere in this small northern town I live in...
