Wink The new style is here!!

Burrs!!! Uck my girl has found the burr bushes again. Nothing too bad just mostly in her forelock and mane. I hate when she gets in them. I never can seem to keep her hair very long because she finds the burrs. Grrrrrr!!! I really need to get out and kill the plants. Much easier. Anyone else's horse sporting the spring fashion?

yep. but now for some reason my horse is getting into ones that are sharp like needles. They are so much easier to pull out, but also so much more painful!

If you braid your horses mane and forelock, and keep the braids wrapped...the burrs will not get stuck as bad.

Keeping the hair up and protected will give you a longer fuller mane by the end of this year.

Ohh that looks fancy! I should try that. I'm so tired of fighting to get the burrs out. Sometimes she gets them in her ears and that's a fight! I get flung all over. I've always wanted to braid her tail and mane just never had the gumption to do it. Now I have a reason!

I just did the tail on my new one, and fought the burr battle, but we don't have burs at my house so no worries for me.

I HATE burs also. Cowboy magic and rubber gloves are your best friend! gob them with the cowboy magic, let it sit for a little while, then put on the rubber gloves. the burs don't stick to you, and slide right out! then the leftover tail/mane/forelock is still full of cowboy magic and they don't seem to get as many for a while.

The problem with that...is that cowboy magic detangler is full of silicones. Silicones make the hair feel soft and shiny but they really act like a plastic coating on the hair preventing moisture from getting in. After prolonged use...the hair ends up dry and brittle and will break way worse if it does get burrs in it.

Mine like to eat the burs So you can just imagine how many they get.

Here is Stormy from today, her tail isn't any better.

I find it helps if they are dried out first, they come out easier in one peice. And the rotating combs help too
