The Name Game

I was wondering how you all came up with your horse's names. When I first got my 18 year old Welsh Pony, when she was four, her name was Sparkles. Well around my farm things just don't ever keep their orginal names. So now she is called Pony. Not to orginal but it suits her. Plus she will run you over for a horse treat so she is also called Pony-sauris Rex.
She loves to make sure we are milking the cows correctly. She patrols the walk in the barn. (Don't worry the cows don't kick at her. Plus the walk in the barn is wider than most.) Oh and another name she was is Goddess of the Farm, and she makes sure everybody knows it.

Well...Starbucks was originally named Willy Wonka, and before that, Bay Bob...*uggh*

He is coffee colored and has a star on his head. We were driving down the road trying to think of names and I see a Starbucks Coffee Shop and say, "hey! What about Starbucks?" It stuck. It really suits him.

We tend to call him Star, or buck, or Buckaroo...but I call him Boyfriend too...hehe

We had one pony that no name would stick to. She arrived called Holly and we couldnt call her that because thats my sister's name so she got renamed Mistletoe or Toes for short, but it didnt seem to suit her, my brother started calling her Bo, but the rest of us didnt like it so that didnt stick either. Then I read one of the saddle club books about a horse with no name that ended up being called Belle so we called her that for a bit but again she didnt seem to suit it. She ended up being called Spice because we got another pony called Sugar and they were pretty inseparable. So they were "Sugar and Spice" like out of the nursery rhyme.

When my horse arrived, we had trouble picking out a name for her, and my trainer was getting ready to leave for Las Vegas, and then we started to look at her, and she kind of resembled a dice with her white color and tiny black spots, so we called her Vegas. And her show name is High Roller!
