Let's face it...I have the WORST time with pregnant mares.... First we have Fiona and never knowing if she's in heat or not. Then her dropping 2 eggs...Then hiding it...then ovulating WAY too fast... Now Lucy...She was at the vet yesterday. The vet loves her!! LOL Thinks she's a pretty good weight, not too bad, could use a little more pounds but she's not horrible and she said not to worry about it that much. So Lucy got blood drawn and it was sent out last night to see if she was pregnant...We got the results today...The results..... We don't know...The blood is "elevated" meaning she could be ovulating which is confusing the vets because it is pretty late in the season for a mare to be doing this... She'll either get blood drawn again in a month, get palpated(prolly won't though just because she is small) or we might have an external ultra sound... So the vet says to care for Lucy as if she really is pregnant. And now I REALLY think she's preggo...But luckily we have a buyer. A woman down the street who I know and she volunteers at the therapy riding center and is fostering 3 of the retired horses at her house. So I guess it'll be ok for Lucy to be preggo... But honestly...am I EVER going to have an easy time with pregnant mares? Ever??? LOL

That's too bad, but at least you have someone willing to buy her.

The vet left a note for my mom today...It basically said Lucy IS pregnant...And she will be started on the rhino shots very soon...I just hope we caught it in time so the foal will be healthy...Now if the baby didn't already have a home then I'd be a little discouraged about this whole thing, but luckily she has one. So two babies for me!!!
