thanks`so much for ur answer misscriss i totally get what ur saying and hope i didnt come across as negative... i think we are pretty much in agreement in general

there are some major differences in the training of reiners and cutters, but the part u mentioned... getting a horse understanding how to use his hip and be lightresponsive and quick...thats the same.

ps my cutting horse hal will do a pony version of passage complete with arched neck and flexed poll...when i let him loose in the turnout!

YES....that is my jist of this post.

It is the difference in the riders.

The first is an example of an experienced rider who is demonstrating that the horse CAN actually go on the bit or in "frame" in the first photos as a "REFERENCE" for us to gauge the ability of the horse when ridden properly from the start.

The second, less experienced rider, is an example of a student who with work plus coaching can acheive the same ride....

I also see that it took the RIDER AN HOUR of hard work to acheive this.

I do not see that the horse was worked in a frame for an hour.

Chester has herself stated that the horse WAS NOT worked in the frame for an hour.

She stated the "FOCUS" of this thread quite clearly, was the difference in "RIDING" by the two people in the thread.

The focus or point to this thread is the differences in the riders and the effect on the horse.

As for the different disciplines....all horses, whether cutters, reiners, Dressage, Jumpers, Eventers, MUST work from back to front to get collection.
The differences come in the long and lows or the higher leveled poll.
In most pictures of WP horses, their neck is the highest point, where in Dressage the poll is the highest point.
My higher level horses, both in the Jumpers and Dressage have the poll as the highest point with a supple, non resistant jaw and soft, yeilding mouth, my power and energy to get this "frame" comes from the hindend working with their and my core muscles.

All horses must come from behind into the bridle...this seems to be what everyone is saying...just with different articulation .

lol, i know i know. but sometimes i feel as if energy would be best used in other areas that arent already established and the initial problem solved and overwith ye olde member. the world does go round, but in this case its a skipping CD, its spinning but i keep hearing the same You-you-you-you-you-you-you-you--- and so on.
