Exclamation Thank God for the nice man who knew the nice farmer with a John Deere and a hay spear

We had our excitement for the day! Today our saddle club had a fun show, but we left early in the morning to go get some roundbales. We borrowed a friend's flatbed trailer, and we were able to fit 4 large bales on there, which were tied down with those ratchet straps(hope you know what I'm talking about...I don't know the actual name for these!). We went on to the fun show, and later in the afternoon when we went to leave, my mom and I both checked the straps holding the bales down, and everything seemed tight and secure...

About 20 minutes down the road, we came to a 4-way stop, and when it was our turn, we went, but then my mom suddenly saw in the mirror a roundbale sitting in the middle of the highway 36 intersection!!! Somehow, we really don't know for sure how, the last bale came loose and just popped out from under the strap!!!! The strap was still hooked to the bottom of the trailer, and all we can figure is that somewhere in that bale there was an area of open space, and when we went over the railroad tracks it jostled the bale around and made it loose under that strap.

Anyway, we pulled over right away, and I ran back the the haybale, which was still sitting in the intersection, to try to get it out of the road! Luckily, it fell on a round side. The car that had been behind us went around the bale and went on their way, but there was a man in a truck behind him, and he stopped and helped me get the bale rolled off the road. Meanwhile, my mom was checking the other straps and bales so she could go up the road and turn around. I said, "Well, we've got it out of the road, that's good, but now what???" God was watching over us, because the man told me that he knew a farmer right up the road that had a tractor and a hay spear!!!!!

He called the guy, who had JUST gotten home, and the farmer brought over his tractor and and loaded the roundbale back on the trailer for us and he and the other man who had stopped helped us get it secured. We tried paying them both, but all they would take were thanks. So...we made it the rest of the way home without mishap, and the hay is now in the barn where it belongs!

So, seriously, I'm thanking God for the nice man who stopped and the farmer with the John Deere and a hay spear!! I don't know what we would have done without them right there at the right time to help us out. We're also thanking God that the bale didn't fall on or roll into any vehicles, and that no one was hurt!!

What a neat story!!!

And now it is your turn to repay that kindness shown to you, the next time you see someone in a similar predicament, if you are able to help them out ...

You just have to love the people you don't know but are there just when you need them.

Glad it all turned out well.

The kindness of complete strangers is often the best timed and most appreciated of all.

My friend (God Love Her) has helped me dramatically in this last year, it's been a rough year for me, and last fall she gave me 5 small round bales of hay, then she gave me another bale a week ago! Hay is scarce around here, as we haven't had much rain at all this summer.
Thank God for people like that!!
