I've actually never heard of the mouth ulcers. Was that with the one product only?

I only use Quest Plus (well up until they discontinued it was using ComboCare). And I have used Equimax in the past a couple of times.

The only time I ever used Zimectrin Gold was the first time that Reno was dewormed for tapes.

Wow, really? Yes, ZG has an issue with causing mouth ulcers in *some* horses. Not the type of ulcers on the gums that can be caused by the drug killing off imbedded parasites (gross), but contact ulcers on the lips and tongue.

Nobody can really offer up a valid explanation for it. It has lower amounts of the chemicals than Equimax does, so there has to be something about the carrier agent(s) in it.

And yes, Zimecterin Gold only, Equimax has not reported this problem ever.

That's definately a good tidbit to know. I can't believe that I'd missed that along the way. Probably because I never use it, and know why I never use it, I don't bother to really read a lot about it.
