Unhappy Talk about a not-so-fun trail ride...

Me and MaddyHorse4 decided to go on a trail ride today.. as many of you know I just started to lease a new pony. The owners told me he would be fine on trail rides.

We were back on a small path with woods on one side and a plowed feild on the other. We just discovered that when going any faster than a walk, my pony has be first otherwise he sp***** out. MaddyHorse4 forgot about that momentarily and trotted her pony away. Mhm... my pony spazzed out a threw me It was probably my worst fall, but I'm fine =)

So, if thats not bad enough. He gallops off Through the woods (over a log...), across the feilds (sorry for the trampled crops!!!), and across an extremely busy road. I went after him, although I soon lost site of him. MaddyHorse4 was calling her mom who was back at the barn... We caught up with each other, and soon we got a call back that my pony was back at the barn. Apparently safe, although her mom doesn't know much about horses. We were already on the long-route as we thought he would choose that way.. it looked more inviting to a pony. Soo... it took us a while to get back.

But when I get back, I checked him over and he was fine. Looking slightly proud of himself... MaddyHorse4's mom had already called our trainer who said that he was not a trail pony and thats why he was sold to his current owners. I guess he had gotten better over the five years he's been owned by his current owners.. but he always gets ridden in the ring before a trail ride. I didn't know that.

Soo.... theres my 'fun' day. No more trail rides... My trainers away at a horse show for the week.. but I'm kinda scared for when she comes back.

Bleh.

I just needed to share.

But seriously, I'm sorry he threw you off and galloped away. At least nobody's hurt!

It is very scary to get thrown from a horse. I know this from personal experience!

Are you going to ride the pony again? I know I am having fear issues with if I am going to be able to ride the horse that threw me. My horses buck wasn't because he was naughty, he had a painful saddle on. Fear is the same though.

I am glad you are all right.

Yeah, I've been thrown before. I'm not scared, especially since I know he wont do it in the ring. Which is where I'm going to be staying for a while. The real scary part was knowing he was running loose with the busy roads nearby.
