Question swollen legs

Ok once again here I am with my 20 year old Arab. I purchased him last July after my old horse died and the lady I purchased him from a close friend to my Aunt said he has never had any lameness problems. Two weeks after purchasing him he got scratches. We took him to the vet got medicine and went about the rest of the summer. His legs stayed swollen, but he wasn't lame. He went to winter pasture and the scratches went away. Assuming the swelling was from the scratches I figured his legs would no longer swell. I was wrong. His legs are still swollen even though every time I ride I ride him in polo wraps and after every ride I wrap his legs in standing bandages. I'm not sure if it is just an illusion of the eye, but even though he doesnt have scratches his white legs seem to be more swollen than his black one. Any ideas on what this might be, and how to make it go away?????????? cuss im stumped

You keep him wrapped all the time? Do you keep him stalled? Is there any heat in his legs? All four are swollen? Scratches occurs on the heel, not on the leg itself. Are you sure it was scratches and not cellulitis?

Ya it was on the heal, and yes im sure its scratches or atleast thats what the vet said. He isnt stalled, but he has a pen with a run in shed. He isn't wrapped 24/7. normally i ride him/have him in polo wraps from about 4-5:30 depending on the night but about that time. Then depending if we have to trailer home or not he has a break for about 10 to 30 minutes. Normally i hose his legs off check for heat and new bumbs ect. Then his legs get wrapped in standing wraps till about 6:30 7:00 a.m. the next day and he doesn't wear wraps again till I ride, but on nights that I rodeo or I have 4-H, which is 3 to 4 days a week he doesnt get his standing wraps till as late as 10, but it depends on our activities. And on days we do light works like walking by the river which is usually once a week I dont wrap his legs at all. There usually isn't any heat except once or twice there was, and most the swelling is down near the fetlock joint.

maybe rubbing liniment will help.Wont hurt anyways. Is the fetlock joint swollen,or anything. If it was, I was thinking windpuff. If he is not lame maybe he just stocks up?

I don't if he is just stocked up or not that was what I was thinking, but in doing some reading I was thinking that it might be wind puffs. Does anyone else think that this might be wind puffs?

Are all four fetlocks swollen? Is it a firm swelling? Does the swelling stop at the fetlock,or is the whole leg swollen like to the knee?Wind puffs do not cause lameness,so that might be what its from.If it is windpuffs it is from being in hard work, then suddenly stops working.
