Sweat scraping? Good or bad?

There is a debate at my barn right now regarding scraping after a bath... Is it necessary or not?

Some are saying that not sweat scraping is like putting a blanket on the horse. Others are saying its like keeping them in a wet bathing suit. I thought that you wanted to sweat scrape so that if/when they roll, it isn't so gross.

Any thoughts?

Yup

Yup, sweat scrape all of the excess water off.....especially since we live in this gross humidity. It does not evaporate like in drier heats. Keeping it on just traps heat in and attracts more bugs

I scrape beaause he won't drip everywhere and it helps my horse dry off quicker, i doubt many horses truly like being soaking wet
