since jazzy has a pink nose i always put sunscreen on it or else it blisters like someone else said. i usually use zinc oxide which is the REALLY thick white paste stuff. it works well and lasts a lot longer than regular sunscreen. or i just use the regular stuff in a really high number like 45 or 60. i put it on every day normaly and it seems to work pretty well.

Yep, the sport type is best. If in doubt, apply a thick blob in an unseen area, like under the flank and observe for 24 hours - if no bad reaction, you are good to go. We used the 50 proof or baby type as it has no additives to adversely affect skin.

i used to use sun block on my horse, i went and brought the senstive kids one, it did work for a bit, i put it on then she would spend the next 10 minutes wiping it off, plus it makes her hair fall out. So now she wears a fly mask which covers her whole head, she has never burnt with that (she has pink skin)

Lucky gets sunscreen on her face. She has pink skin, so she burns easy. I use regular baby sunscreen, and apply it daily. She doesn't like getting it rubbed on, lol... but it keeps that nose pink, and not red. It does tend to attract dirt though...

I use my daughters sunscreen on my horses. It is a spf 30. And is waterproof. I figure if it is gentle enough for a baby's sensitive skin then it should be safe for my horses, and I find it works really well.

Where I work I have to put sunscreen on a couple of horses noses so they won't get sunburnt. The application is super easy, just rub it in like on humans

I just bought a bottle of that today to use on K's neck (he wears a fly mask with ears and a mosquito sheet) when he is in turnout. Glad to know it is good stuff.
