I have a Claybank turned Grey stallion. And the thing is in the Winter time he is a true claybank. Looks like he rolled in red clay. But in the summer time when the Sun is up high he bleaches out to a Roan Colored Grey. any Idea's of what I can use on it? I would prefer something I only have to put on once a week. Any help would be great |

there are lots of spray on sunblock products availible but i am not sure how long they last. you could also try a fly sheet that is designed to protect the coat from UV rays

Exhibitor's Labs makes a spray-on sunscreen called Quic Screen that lasts for a full eight days, even if the horse sweats moderately. It works very well and has a nice smell to it, too. It recommends using it on a freshly washed horse, but it will work on a freshly brushed horse as well. You can learn more at: http://www.exhibitorlabs.com |

Try turning him out at night, away from the sun

if you want something cheap that will last a while (a few days) go with diaper rash ointment. its thick so it stays on and you can get it for super cheap.
