Stud Chain

Anyone have a photo of a stud chain correctly attached to the halter? I think I know, but would like to make sure.

Regal just about ripped my arm out yesterday (My arm/shoulder is sore today from the trailer episode) so until we get this respect thing rehashed I think I'd like to use one to get the upper hand.

You thread it though the near side cheek piece up and over the bridge of the nose, and wrap it around the nose piece once, then hook it to the eyehook on the other side.

Its amazing how impossible it is to find a good pic! You want to finish on the cheek piece and have it wrapped around the noseband or else it can break thier nose.

There are a LOT of different ways to put a stud chain on, just depending on how severe you want it to be when it is pulled on. I think that is good what you are doing by putting the stud chain on Regal to teach him respect again. It's exactly what I am doing with my yearling right now, and believe me, within a couple of days, he will be much better! Sorry I didn't post any pics!

Depending on the size of the head. I run mine under the chin just in case so as not to scar the bridge of their nose. A 24 inch chain will work most the time. I run it threw the halter on the right side (meatl loop for nose band), under the chin skipping the loop under the chin, back up and out the lope for nose band on left side and hook it to the upper loop for the jaw strap. If it is to short I just hook it to the left loop on the nose band.
Hope that helps.
