| Senior Member+ | Stubben vs CTD General comments? Esp. differences in fit? I am looking at a brand new CTD Le Parcours for Anza (size 30); she is currently in a Stubben Roxane (30.5) which seems to fit her fairly well, though it is well used so the panels have packed down a lot, accentuating the differences in width. How quickly do flock panels 'settle'? Will half a cm in size make much difference? Any other advice? I'm quite keen on getting it as it sits perfectly along her back, has nice even panels & wide channel, and seems okay (but not as roomy as the Stubben) at the front. The stubben's panels slope in to the pommel, leaving lots of room for the shoulders, instead of puffing out like a cushion, if anyone knows what I mean. I'm not sure if it was made like that, though, or that's just how it's worn. Any thoughts or experiences much appreciated (CTD is made by Stubben) |

| Senior Member+ | I don't personally own a CTD, but do know someone who does, and I have 3 stubbens. The CTD I know doesn't quite have the same quality of leather - it's still good quality, don't get me wrong, just not stubben quality. She has an arab and it fit him perfectly and held up great for everything she wanted it to (showjumping, dressage, bit of cross country..). I think she ended up selling it because her horse filled out and it didn't fit any more, but it retained it's value very well. I would not buy a CTD but that's just me... I love my stubbens.

| Senior Member+ | Kiwi, I'm far from an expert, but I'd say you have to try the saddle to be sure if it fits.... especially since you're possibly getting a tighter fit - remember too narrow and you simply just can't use the saddle. regarding new flocking settling, I'm not sure, but the general thought is 10 rides w/o any pad whatsoever to get the saddle to begin settling. And, finally, there is no guarantee that a stubben 30cm will fit as closely as a 30.5cm.... I had 2 stubbens (sold one)... my 31.5 was a close fit, just a little too tight, but my 32 wouldn't fit at all! it was waaaay too narrow, and its .5cm wider! Unfortunately, there is no 'probably'. You need to check. Good luck!

| Senior Member+ | ^^^ I agree, I've heard good and bad things about both - but the only way to really tell is to go try one on your horse and ride in it. Good luck!
