Straighting a Wavy Mane?

I have a pony and her mane is wavy. I don't know what breed she is so I am not really sure why it is so wavy. Is there anyway to get it to go straight?

here are some pics.
you can click them to enlarge.

Wow that sure is a wavy mane... was she wet in those photos? Because my pony's mane gets wavy when it's wet.

Ponies and there thick brutal hair, when i ad mine hers wasnt wavy but gosh it was thick and hard to deal with. Almost a different texture then a horses mane too. Not to bud in but does anyone know why? I think if you let it grow out it will straighten out, Why do you want it straight everyone i know whos horses have a long mane braid it before shows to make it wavy.

I would wash it, blow it dry and use a straightening iron if you want it REALLY straight! Of course, I'd only do that for a show. If you want it permanently straight, well...uhhh...I don't know what to tell you. I guess you could search for hair straightening products, if its worth doing.

She was sweaty in those pictures but her mane is alway wavy even when it dry.

It's not like you typically pony mane (out of control or thick). It's just wavy.

There is a product for humans called Frizz Free and there is another one called.......I think...Straighten Up. Also look in the ethnic section of WalMart, KMart, General Dollar, Family Dollar, drug store, Many grocery stores and etc. They usualy have a straightening application for thier hair. Its not long term but it might help if you dont want wavy hair at shows. It might be worth taking a gander at. Like ehat was mentioned above you can try a straightening iron. Was that pic of the pony taken in winter?

I think it's beautiful. I wouldn't try and straighten it at all...
