Hmmm....do ya reckon dem enzymes et em up or what? (We could start talking southern on here and drive everyone crazy, ya know? LOL)
Ya'll excuse me. I think I've been in the sun too much today.

I really like the automatic waterer idea but since some of my tanks still require me to drag a hose out to fill them it just won't work for me right now...maybe some day....sigh.

I know the dunk things are supposed to be safe but I don't know...somehow I'm just not totally comfortable with the idea of putting bacteria and such in my horses water. So, I think I'll give the goldfish a shot and see what happens. If nothing else they'll give me something to look at while I'm standing there holding the hose.

Well my cows, horses, dogs and cats have been drinking out of mosquito dunk-water, LOL!

Some of them I wouldn't miss.....

I have read threads on this forum about using ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar) for this problem and for keeping the tank clean and free from algae. I have never tried it, but it sounds interesting.

There are these little packets that you put into your water tank, This packet dissinigrates when it touches water and these all these little dust looking particles come out of the packet that kill the mosquito larva, and keep mosquitos away and out of your water. They last for a month or more I think. Unfortunately I cant remember what theyre called, but we got them at Tractor Supply. It didnt hurt the horses and young ones, they work really well, I was surprised.

i use fishtank aeratours. moving water is essentially algae- free tho i still turn my tanks over at least every two to three days for cool, fresh and clean. i use the fifty gallon tanks for quicker drain and ease of cleaning.
