Stirrup extender, I'm short, I hope I found the answer

I am bidding on a stirrup extender. I have tried the nylon ones that slip into the stirrup and it worked horrible. I GAVE it way.

I can't just extend the stirrup length, because I dont' now if I could shorten it while on the horses back.

So here is what I am bidding on:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA:IT&ih=011

Has anyone used one of these? My next step is an EZ up, but they cost around $100.

Hmm well I've never seen that so I'm curious to see how well it works. The bidding ending so maybe it's on it's way to you already

If that doesn't work you could just build a mounting block. They are pretty simple to make and help out a lot. My guy is 17.2 hands and it is hilarious to watch me try getting on from the ground. Needless to say I love having a mounting block.

Yup, I just won it a few hours ago.

I have an electrical box I use as a mounting block at home. I need something for when the day comes I can trail ride again.

Or when I am out riding, I can get off and get back on.

Before my injury, I was out riding and I found an arrow that I would liked to have picked up. My one son just got a bow. But I didn't have a way to get back on, so I had to pass on the goodie.

The arrow was still there the day I got hurt. I'm guessing a hunter lost it.

It wasn't the price that actually stopped me from trying that one. Its because the side you put it on, drops 2 inches. So you have to shorten the fender/stirrup 2 inches to match the other side.

I have my stirrups adjusted to the very top spot. The fender is in the way to just punch holes. I would have to cut the fender.

Hopefully this one will work. It didn't say anywhere it drops the side down 2 inches, so I have my fingers crossed it doesn't.

I will let everyone know how it works.....this Fall. I am laid up until approximately September.

I don't like the EZ up. I bought one and tried it and it banged my shin all the time and ended up hurting like heck. Unless I had it on wrong?

I know you're looking for another horse, not sure how serious you are about buying.

When all else fails, get a smaller horse

Prairienights, I'm too lazy to retype my answer. LOL

Look at post #35

Could this horse carry an adult?

I'm casually looking to replace a horse my girlfriend is taking.
