Question Stifle injury!

i recently looked at a throughbred mare who has a stifle injury to the meiscias (can't spell)
She has been signed off as a hacking horse. She has trouble turning tightly apart from taht she is ok.
Vet has looked at report and waiting for another.
My concern is will she stay sound or keep going lame. I just want a horse i can hack 2- 3 days a week. I know that arthirutius will effect her, adventourly. But i would like 5 years at least with her and give her a nice life. This is the only problem but is it going to cost me lots to have her or if i am sensible will she stay sound. She is 10 years old and is happy in herself. Doesn't take medication. My vet is going to look overher. Also would being turned out regularly improve or worsen her condition.
Any advice.

It's meniscus The kneecap, essentially.

Nobody here can give you any better or worse information than your vet.

One horse with this injury could be sound and jumping for the next 10 years, but another might only ever be sound for light flat riding.

You say you want 5 years with her - what do you plan for her at age 15 if she's not sound for light riding anymore?

What exactly was the injury? Lots of stifle injuries heal well, lots don't. Some need immediate but light work to heal well, others need months of stall rest to heal well.
