Steward at Midland Counties Show

Just got a phone call from Janet Nott - affiliated Judge to see if I would Steward at Midland Counties show.

Thought I would be in the Welsh Breeds Class, BUT she asked me if I would steward with the Side Saddle Judge :eek!:

At first was bit dissapointed, but thought eh, this is something new to have under my belt.

So Sunday June 6th, shall have photos for you of an Affiliated County Show, riders doing side saddle.

I am excited, never been in a ring with Side Saddle Rider before.

Will be interesting (Pray for good weather for me :cute_kis: )

Wanted to share, anyone local who would be intested in coming along(could meet the infamous CANDYGIRL) it is at Uttoxetor, could email you list of events as soon as paper work comes through from Jan

I'm not judging, way above my standard :eek!:

But real honoured to be asked to steward, this is a massive affiliated show.

Fancy putting me in side saddle, don't think I have ever seen one in real life, only on the TV LOL

But they do the same show as normal english showing, and the JUDGE ride the horse not me LOL. Thank god, I am a not a lady, like to feel what I have between my legs

Judging in Side Saddle starts at 2pm, but I have to be there for 12, because I get a slap up lunch in the Marque with the top name Judges

This is one of the best show grounds in our country, I realy wish one member in England would come.

Even though I am just stewarding, have to dress real posh for an Affiliated show, even a posh hat(not a riding hat), Trouser suit, white blouse lol.

I will charge up the digi and take as many Pics as possible(not while doing the job though - get told off by Judge, very strict lol)

Got all the info through post on show today, WHY couldn't they have put in the Welsh Classes I am gonna have to research Side Saddle Association Rules

Hopes you can read this ,if you can't and am interested, I will type out what the classes say

The bits that look marked out are actually highlighed they say
SIDE SADDLE CLASSES

CLASS 50 - SIDE SADDLE CONCOURS D'ELEGANCE

The Side Saddle Association Equitation Championships
Qualifying Open Class

Side Saddle Riding Club Horse/Pony Class

Steward Notes - I get driven to the ring in a car:eek!:

One advantage, I do get lunch AND A GLASS OF WINE LOL

Anyone know anything about side saddle equitation?

Wow Your Highness,

Just kidding, I hope you know that. Congratulations!!! How cool is that? June 6 is only a few weeks away. I have only seen side saddle a couple of times. It looks very complicated. I have a hard enough time with two legs to cue with. Don't they use a whip on the off side? I keep thinking of Scarlet O'Hara in Gone With the Wind.

Wow, that looks like it will be great fun! I was lucky enough to steward at a large Morgan show years back. It was a funny feeling being in the arena in my dress and heels! LOL!

Belle,

I aint got a clue, need to research.

Never Judged or stewarded Side Saddle, my thing is Conformation and Natives:eek!:

You want to see the steward rules, things like double entries in Judges book, radio control to Secretaries office, wow this is huge.

I don't have to ride them thank god, the judge does that, ouch.

There are 11 Rings, almost 300 classes, the President of The Midlands County show is The countess of Shrewsbury and Talbot

It's a massive affiliated show held at Uttoxetor Racecourse

The lady who is Judging Welsh Mountain Ponies Section A of the Sud Book is Miss L. Hutchins, she owns the stud, Bengad, Picollo is out of a Bengad mare, looking forward to have luncheon(lol) with her.

Dawn anyway of making those notes so members can read them for me? Pretty please oh clever one
