Speaking from experience, I have a "bad" ankle; I had surgery on it from an injury and it still is a little weaker than the other even after several years. Usually it is fine, but sometimes weather changes or a lot of walking, etc. can cause it to basically partially give out. When that starts happening, I wear an ankle wrap: just a light, flexible bandage wrapped around my foot and ankle without any padding, etc. I can feel the difference in the ankle easily; the bandage alone gives me a good deal of support.

Tho in saying that the polo wraps DO go under the fetlock joint, so they provide some support to that joint by restricting it's extension, IMO. | |
