Kiwi, Polo's are just used for riding purposes, stable wraps are the ones with the padding underneath. There hasn't been much purposes of polos proven, but I (amoung others) belive they offer support to the horse's legs during work-outs and also provide some protection against "forging" and even when jumping.

I noticed the second demo's polos went up onto the knee a bit? Do all of you guys do this or am i the only one who doesn't? I thought it restricts movement, similar to if one of us wrapped something around our own knees...?

I have seen Dressage people go about 1/3 to 1/2 way up the knee, but I think its just one wrap around, so I don't know. I guess it could if it went to far and was more than one "wrap"

I ALWAYS use padding underneath bandages. If you don't, then its pretty pointless doing it in the first place...bandages are designed to be supportive...without padding, where is the support???

I know that your intentions were good doing this thread, but vets, instructors and experienced horse people should show the person (in the flesh) how to bandage properly...there are too many ramifications for bandages too tight or to loose.

I just don't think they are as popular over here. I personally have never seen someone using padding under exercise wraps.

I will be certain to get a more experienced person to help me try polo wraps, but still great information. The pictures help a lot! Thanks for sharing it .
