Hey, does anyone know how to make those cool patterns on the horses rump, like how the hair is brushed different directions, to make it look like a checkerboard pattern or something, i dont even know what its called thanks

I haven't thought about that in years but used to do that for playdays and gymkhanas. I used a spray bottle with water mixed with a little gel then I'd take one of those small metal combs and make squares by combing down the length of the comb then turn the comb the opposite way and do little squares alternating the pattern. I only did my horse's rump but I've seen some get pretty creative with the patterns.

I made my own stencil with paper. But my pattern was opposite of normal. I body shaved my horse, but left the pattern (superman symbol) So what I did was make the stencil, used halloween hair paint to spray that area, then shaved anything not painted. I also used the cutout from the stencil to help me around the edges. I have heard of people just brushing backwards and hair spraying. Or brushing backwards and shaving the hair standing up. |

There was a lady I talked with on another horse forum who did lots of stenciling. It was similiar to Moostang's style. She was very good.
