State Fair Art Entries

I had a friend ask me a few times if I was going to enter any art work in the Texas State Fair. Well she wore me down and I had nothing to enter so I took it as a challenge to create two pieces in time. Here they are.

This is the pencil sketch. Clickable to enlarge.

This is the oil painting I like looking at it close up and from across the room, you notice different elements of the painting.

I will find out if they are accepted around the 9th of September.

I big blue ribbon! Thats all but the feeling of standing in the room and seeing it hanging then realizing how many people will walk through looking at it is PRICELESS. I can't explain in words how that truely feels.

I like to stand near and listen to what other people have to say about my art. I can learn a lot from what they like and don't like. Being able to stand near without recognition of who I am lets me hear what they truely think about it.

I like the Horse In The Fog! Your colors are awesome and the fog really looks like Fog. You can almost feel the mist.

I kept looking for the frog though........(inside joke)

PS. I think the Horse and the Frog would have been cute.

I've actually got a frog (or possibly its a toad) that hangs out around the barn. He takes occasional dips in the water trough. Someday I'll get a picture of him. He likes the crickets to and I've found in resting on my hay bales.
