I am realy excited! I just moved to Chico and I am going to start doing dressage with my horse. All of you dressage riders out there give some input. Thanks!

Don't get discouraged. Stick with it. In the beginning it's hard because you have to do different things. Like rolling your thighs in which I was never told to do in my hunter/jumper lessons. (Rolling your thighs in also helps in the hunter ring!) Have fun with it!!

If you are in Chico Calif, just to let you know, there is a dressage clinic coming up, I am trying to talk my b/f into taking us. A couple people from our ranch are going. I think it was around the first weekend of Sept... but I keep forgeting to bring the form home. If you are interested let me know.. I think it was around $65

Dressage has helped my position a LOT!! I think anyone can benefit from dressage. But like others said, don't get discouraged...just keep working at it. I've been riding dressage now for almost 3 years and I love it. Some good books are Centered Riding 1 and 2 and Dressage From A to X (I've never read that one but I've heard good things about it). Also, Dressage Today mags have a lot of good articles. Good luck!!
