Red face Started New Job!

I had my first day of work at the vet office yesterday...I'm working in the kennel.

Kids in my vet practice class in school who work there were telling me all these horrible things about the kennel manager and that it's horrible work and on and on and on...Finally to the point where I was SO ticked no one would drop it I just snapped at them. My reason for working at the vet is so Fiona's foal's vet care will be free and I'll have money for feed(for now) and everything else that I need for Fiona.

Work wasn't that bad. I'm an FFA member and the girl that was working with me last night was an FFA member also at a different school! We thought it was cool LOL And the woman who was training me I already knew because I had worked with her at the boarding barn!! So I was a lot more comfortable then I thought I would be.

We aren't booked right now. We let the dogs out(I got to take care of the golden retriever puppy!!! It was ADORABLE!!! ) we fed them, cleaned the kennels, played with the kitties(we need homes for them!! *wink wink* haha)
We brought the dogs in, cleaned the runs(using a hose). So it really wasn't hard. Sure it'll be harder when we're booked, but there'll be more people working at those times.

And I know almost ALL the vets there and they all know me. My mom works there too as a receptionist so it's pretty comfortable for me to be there. So far I like the job.

I've heard some of the kennel people that the vets know want to become a vet or tech or something that they'll allow the kennel worker to help with things like holding an animal for shots or a check-up.

The only thing I'm not looking forward to is the rabies shot I'll be getting...I hate shots...

I'm sorry about the shot...but, it will be well worth it. Because if you happen to get rabies, without that shot, the shots you have to go through to stop it are BAD.

Just try to focus on something else. I have to give myself shots everyday (gestational diabetes)...so....honest, if the person knows what they are doing, you won't feel a thing.
