Star pickets - help getting out of ground lol and where can I buy them cheap!!!

So I want to make an extra fence accross the front of my new property becuase as soon as the horses are out the paddock there are no fences stopping them going out onto the road.

So I want to pick up some star pickets to slap together a quick temp fence, but I went to the hardware store today and they were $12 EACH!!! thats highway robbery! Any aussies know where I can get them cheaper? This was at a Bunnings wearhouse.

So option 2 if I cant find cheaper is there are a few star pickets around the property that must of held a fence up years and years ago, that I dont mind using but I cant get the blooming things out the ground!!!

I wiggled and jiggled and pulled with all my might but they didnt even budge The ground is SUPER hard out there (like rock!) and they have been there donkeys I'd say.

Anyway can anyone help? lol

Try a place that specialises in fenceing, im pretty sure bunnings will rip you off. Try some place that will sell them in bulk.

I can't help you with the poles stuck in the ground.

Find a star picket puller! Ask a neighbour if they have one? I'm not sure how easily they work but without one it's near impossible to pull them up again.

Try ringing around some of your local scrap metal merchants. Since you are unlikely to be there forever the black ones will be fine and cheaper than the galvanised ones.

If no luck there you can try ringing your local dump. If not ring the steel suppliers in your area.

Hope you have a copy of the yellow pages
