Star Gazing

My trainer was up on Sunday and he gave my friend a lesson with her TB.

Her mare does this really weird thing on the road, she suddenly freezes and then launches herself into the air - all four hooves off the ground.

Anyway having watched her (she was acting up in the school as well) he said that he thinks it could be that she is a "star gazer" He also said he thinks certain types of feed can trigger this behaviour

Has anyone any experience of horses that are "star gazers" and have any help to offer?
