Standardbreds

Hello,
I have started this standardbred form this as i couldn't find one.
So dose any one have a Standardbred???

I do her name is Shandy she is a beautfull bay mare, 14.3hh and is a real jem!!

www.freewebs.com/standardbred_riding_group/
Here we are at a lesson with a friend Shandy is doing so well.
and would never have known that she once pulled a cart at a full steem trot.

My friends and i have started up a standardbred riding group and we are haveing so much fun with it, We do everything or try everything :p.
Shandy is a wonderfull jumper and on our very first dressage day shandy and i got 2nd out of about 7 other riders in our club.

i dont mean to ramble on about standardbreds but they are a real jem to own and ride.

It is in the wrong section... the mods will move it.

But- very cool! I love standardbreds. My grandparents have bred, raised and raced standardbreds since before I was born. They're generally a very nice, calm, thinking group of horses. I'm happy to see them have a good life after the track. I have seen how it could end, my grandparents have always tried to sell their older horses to someone who wants to give them a home- not the meat man.

I had a trotter that just dident care about racing at all. We tried to turn him into a riding horse but he had the hardest trot I have ever felt in my life. It was very hard to sit. They ended up selling him to some lady with a young child.

Hi, Yes I have STBs. I grew up racing them and went on to train and race them along with TBs. I even raced STBs under saddle for 4 years untill it died out in Ohio
But yes I belong to the SPHO of ohio they promote STBs as pleasure horses and host open shows and trail rides.
Where are you?

Hi.

Im not really a Stb fan but do own 1, a mare.
She's very pretty (im bias) & just had her 1st foal by a pinto pt Arab stallion, the resulting colt is 25% Arab & reg pt Stb.

She is going shortly to a pali pt Arab stallion, he's just over 80% Arab.

Here is Tarah, with the pinto stallion, preg & her resulting 1st foal.
