Standardbred Adoption

Thought I'd let you guys know about the American Standardbred Adoption Program in DeSoto, Wisconsin. It's an awesome place; I got my first horse from there a month or so ago and he is great. Sound, even tempered, 6 year old gelding who I renamed Seattle. Check them out! They have a ton of nice horses waiting for homes!

I took a few pictures the other day, but haven't had a chance to get them downloaded on my computer yet.

TraLee, that's his registered name, is a six year old bay Standardbred gelding who was too unsound to race. He did win $732 though. He is by Muscles Yankee and out of Armbro Gaelic. His dam also produced a super trotting horse by the name of Wesgate Crown, who was Trotting Horse of the Year from 2-4 and won over $2.5 million dollars.

I'm retraining Seattle to saddle and he's doing great. They're so level headed about everything.

I think that's about all. What about yours?

He sounds like a good guy.
Mine is about 20 years old right now.
As far as I know his history he was on the track, then the Amish had him, then he went to an Auction. That is where my friend bought him. She had him for 3 years, he spent most of his time in the pasture. Then I bought him. I just trail rode and camped with him.
He has been lame for the last 3 years. So, again he is just enjoying the pasture.
