I rescued a standerbred!! He's 5 years old, 16.1 and was STARVED to death!! Very under weight when we got him, but now moving right along! I've been traniing him, and plannig to stat riding him in about 3 weeks, that's when he'l lbe ready!! I can't wait!! Before we got him, he was whiped, starved, and kept in his stall for a month before we came to have a look at him!! It's a sin, and he's so nice too, be very stall domenant! His stal lwas NEVER cleaned out when his old owners had him, isn't that a sin!! Well heres my story on my baby boy!

I know, its horrible what some people will do to horses. I think standardbreds bare alot of the grunt because when they are done racing people pretty much think their life is over - deffinately not the case!
Glad to hear so many people find them and turn them into these amazing mounts!

Welcome to the Standardbred breed!

They are such a a docile and kind breed.

Please post a picture if you can.

My Standardbred came from a rough background. Came off of the track, but I think it was him home after the track that he got treated cruelly.
