Actually Poco Bueno is King x Miss Taylor. There are a balizzion Poco/Doc crosses though, as, again, it made a stellar cow horse - everyone wanted some of that!

And the GBED they *think* started with Zanatanon - King's sire - but it only came down through Kings lines, from what I'm reading.

(Poco Bueno was born in 1944, Doc Bar in 1956 )

Bailey! what a good post! you had me fooled! I am a Doc Bar lover! I have ridden many great cutting horses, but his offspring has def made their mark in the industry. working cow horse people drool over my doc bar mare! your right, he doesn't have the "wow" but his get sure are great performers.

First: What are you breeding for? Personal family horse or one to sell in the marketplace? If for yourself, find a mare you LOVE... figure out the one thing you would like to change.... breed to a stallion know to throw the one thing you are looking for... then cross your fingers!

If for the market, find a marketable mare.... breed to an in-demand stallion who, again, will throw the one bit of help your mare needs. And again, cross your fingers.

I like the suggestion to buy one already on the ground. The number of unwanted horses is growing just like the number of homeless dogs and cats. If possible, give a horse a home!

Best of luck!
