That's the thing about Doc Bar - he's not a fantastic horse in performance (pretty pathetic actually!), has decent conformation, bred good, but he definately made his mark in his offspring. A fluke, but a lucky one in working QH's.

Of course, then every one wants to get some of that, and you end up with HERDA. Can't win!

I thought HERDA was allegedly from Poco Bueno?

Brain freeze And forgetting to mention B when going from A to C!

Yup, HERDA is Poco Bueno, just like Impressive is HYPP, and now GBED. All from people wanting to get a piece of the action from a sire that throws out phenomenal babies. From what I've read, they haven't determined the line in which GBED is from, but I *wouldn't* be surprised if it comes from one of those WOW stallion in the past. Hopefylly soon they will get a test, so that trait can be bred out, and responsible breeders will FOLLOW that and breed it out, not like some things I've heard from folks who stand Impressive lines and think standing an N/H is ok But mine is just an opinoin out of many....

Found the page I was looking for about GBED. It has been linked to.....

King

I would imagine about 95% of QH have King somewhere back there.....sigh.

Gbed...that one I hadn't heard of before.

Poco Bueno IS from Doc Bar, so he isn't out of the clear yet since they BELIEVE it is only in Poco Bueno at this moment.

With HYPP, they have traced it to Zantana, but the predominant problem is direct through the Impressive line.
