Smart woman yer mom.

Ah... you just reminded me... dozer pic. My phone wouldn't let me email it to myself (pic was too large ) so I'll see if I can just download it from the phone. If not I'll take it into the phone store tomorrow. Your mom is in that one.

Beautiful pictures, but poor Madison. She's young and gorgeous, but 60k?! I'm sorry, but she's nowhere near worth that. Is there a way that maybe you could lease her as a broodmare or something? An on-farm lease maybe?

I dunno. If she can produce more Gatsby's, she could be worth that. It's just a matter of expecting that amount from the person she bought the horse from, knowing what she paid. Not to mention, it's a huge amount of money. But I don't necessarily feel she's not worth it.

I actually have one more breeding still owing to me and I tried to get her to let me rebreed Madison this year (even though it would be a late baby again) and she said no. I worded the contract badly and she's in the drivers seat on #2. I probably won't get the second one. I took almost 10K less on my next best offer on Madison to get these two breedings... if I didn't have her, I at least wanted a Madison filly. If Gatsby had been a girl - palomino or cremello - 'she' wouldn't have gone anywhere.

I feel that I have let Madison down so badly. If she had been sold to either of the other interested parties, I'm sure she'd be in a better home. I have offered a LOT for her but it was still refused. 60K I just can't do... I don't have that kind of money.

Oh well, we all make mistakes. The best learned one for me is not to let anyone EVER make me do something with one of my animals that just doesn't feel right. The second is to pay a lawyer to read over a contract, even a simple one, before it goes out.

And now I must go and recheck ACC's pics to figure out which ones to buy. There are three right off the bat, no thinking involved but the're all of Gatsby so I want to take the time to relook at all of them and buy myself a Happy Thanksgiving present from me to me.

I'm not saying Madison is worthless or 'cheap' at all. She's a lovely mare. However, she's unshown as I understand it and not currently rideable. She has shown value as a broodmare, but I still feel $60k is more than she is currently worth (what I probably should have said). If she does what Puchi Trap has done and consistently produces high quality foals that show well, etc. she definitely could be. I was thinking her monetary value at the current moment is all.

I may be making a trip to NV at some point in the not-so-distant future. If I do I will let you know.

Shoot. We were supposed to be in CA RIGHT NOW for the Breeders' Cup. However the reason we were going (a class there) fell through. Darn! Hubby is going to be teaching another class out there Dec. 13-15. Maybe I can go with (I usually do).
