Speaking of Tobianos and the usual 4 white legs

http://www.wolfrunfarm.com/WRF112.html

There are other pictures on the page above.

I find it terribly interesting that this guy, and mom, and dad (all in the family), all have solid "ends" of the bodies with the middle section carrying the white (manes/tails notwithstanding), as well as fairly low (for a Tobi) white legs. It reminds me of the Abacos ponies which seem to have a prevalence of the middle white section and dark ends, such as this:

That one is also clearly Splash, so I wonder if Splash is controlling the placement of the white on these Tobis?

The mini stallion above has only a little star, and Mom looks to have a solid head (maybe a little white snip?) and Dad appears to be solid in the head except for many a little white chin spot. I could see those little snippets being from Splash, but would not have expected Splash to "push" the white legs down. I know Frame is prevalent in minis, so might they be Frame, and that is pushing the leg white down? That roaned out "white paint smudge" on this guy's left forearm is cool!

Thoughts?

Are you sure that one is tobi? I wouldnt doubt that that is all caused by splash.

No, I'm not sure at all that Abaco pony is Tobi. I'm just noting the similarities in white placement, and wondering if the existence of Splash is "ordering" the Tobi pattern around.

I agree that splash could dictate placement of tobi white. In fact I think we have dicussed this before with horses who are definitely tobi... but *look* SOOO splash, even the placement of the body white seemed splash. RMT are you letting her in on the other discussion?

What makes you think there is a story? I simply said I agree with the point.

ryu, the theory I am just now coming up with, which is apparently not a new one is that we have seen many Splash horses that are not Tobi that have the white coming up from the belly and "pouring" out into the topside of the horse, and I am now making a connection between that, and Tobi horses who have the same type of pattern (which is not a typical-looking Tobi pattern), and am wondering now if Splash is manipulating, or perhaps overriding, how the white placement appears.

It's a pretty strong theory that Frame pushes white off, or at least down, the leg, so it wouldn't be a big stretch to think that Splash could manipulate the presentation of white on the body.
