Talking Sould I clip my horse??? HELP!

I own a registered Canadian mare. She does grow a very thick coat during the winter and sweats quite a lot. I was wondering if I should clip her ... like a chase clip or belly clip. I need opinions on what you guys think I should do. Should I clip, or not??? Please post! wink

does your horse live inside or out? Do you plan on horse showing this winter? If you plan on doing a lot of riding I would body clip your horse and blanket very well to keep him warm, thats what I do. It all depends on what you do with your horse and your horses living situation.

I ride 3 times a week for an hour each day. When I don't ride my horse is kept outside. I'm not showing during the winter but I do lots of work and I find my horse ic cooling down quick enough. It takes forever ... Got any ideas? My horse is a 3 year old, Canadian Mare I will post her picture below ! Go to the 2 links below for pics ....

You might just want to go with the Belly & Neck clip since your horse is kept outside. If you do go with more such as a Low or high Trace Clip then I would get a nice New Zealand or other similar type rug for your horse to wear when the weather is especially cold, wet or nasty!
Remember you can always get your horse accustomed to have a hair dryer used on it and then you can use a blow dryer to help speed up the drying process. Most horses appreciate the feel of the warm air on them on cold days after you get them used to the noise. wink
How much of the horse do I clip?
