| Senior Member+ | Sore/lame.. cant find a reason! HELP Jess has been sore/lame off and on for the past ooh month or so? It does NOT get worse when ridden. I have pulled her out and she has been okay.. then she gets sore, and you cant tell when riding her (like you can normally feel something is off.. you cant! even my friend couldn't when she rode her) No heat, no swelling, no marks, no lumps, no NOTHING we cant find anything. She did have a stone bruise a few weeks ago, and a week or so before that her feet were in terrible shape and were cracked etc.. had farrier out put front shoes on her, got a stone bruise left hind. Left for a bit out in pasture to let that heal, got her hind shoes on Tues, was fine for a day- rode her normally. Then last night part way into riding her she gets sore again. Its obvious to the eye, not when riding her.. but its not obvious WHERE she might be sore. I though maybe it was from the sand arena, as it is DEEP and I hate the footing, but then before she hadn't been in there for weeks and she was still sore. Nowhere on her leg/foot can we find a touchy/sore spot where she doesn't want touched/played with. ETA- It's her left hind.. what I mean by not worse when ridden, is if she gets sore while in the middle of a ride, it hasnt ever gotten worse. I don't know what to do. Someone says hip. someone says foot.. she doesn't hesitate to move out u/s, but will when on the ground with no rider. Any thoughts/suggestions?

| Senior Member+ | Get the vet to her. We could come up with all sorts of things, but the vet will make a correct diagnosis of it.

| Senior Member+ | How do you know it's the LH? Ditto getting the vet out. Here are some preliminary investigations you can do: Is she better/worse on grass, sand, concrete? Is she better/worse going right or left? Is she better/worse on a bigger circle or smaller one?
