You are soooo missing my point and I don't have the time or the technical know how (multi quote) to help you understand it. Moving on for more education and less drama.

Right ^^^

Avoiding drama means posting something like this:

Since body position is so important in cutting you'd think the 3 minutes it takes to adjust the stirrups would be a no-brainer. My opinion though. The reason I asked about the pen is that I saw no lights in any of the pictures and you said he rode nights. Must have them on the other pen. Nice horse by the way.

Sure and that's the way to avoid drama till it bites you on the b.utt. Some folks are just too funny.

* disclaimer* I know nothing about cutting cattle

BUT, that looks cool as all get out to me, those are some crazy looking cows, and the whole thing is facinating!

Love the Border Collie, I think they are remarkable working dogs.

For what it is worth Endur from my ignorant perspective

I think you, your trainer, your horses and the dog are all AWESOME!

Tex looks awesome

But my input...I HATE riding with long stirups, because if push came to shove and I had to get off my seat onto onto my shirtups, I want distance between my saddle and my butt, can't exactly jump a log in WP length stirups or adjust your saddle if it slips sideways with long stirups...JMHO. My western saddle stirups are cutter length becauseof added security (I do not rely on my stirups,I can ride bareback VERY well, ridden out a few bucks, and jumped bareback too,so it'smore of an added security thing with me)

Tex looks great! The cutters are always so cool to watch. One of the most entertaining horse sports imo.

You're trainer is brilliant to ride all night, I wish the arena I use was lighted and I'd do it all at night as well

For the past seven years, I have worked for a Multiple World Champion cutting horse trainer. His most recent accomplishment was making the AQHA Cutting Mare Of The Year in 2008, among other things.

He schools lots of horses all day. We work closely together. I ride one hole shorter than he does. Lots of times, he will jump on a horse I am riding without changing the stirrups. Other times, he will change the stirrups if it is going to be a long or important schooing session. Often times, when one of the non pros is having some issue or he wants to demonstrate something, he will get on their horses without changing the stirrups. He, after 38 years of being a world caliber trainer, has the feel to be able to school a horse adequately without the stirrups perfect for him. It really depends on the situation.
