Also, it might be worth it to perhaps get he press involved, if they bring it into the open, it will force someone in charge to do something, with all the concerned citizens, they won't be able to say no

One of the rescues emailed me back and suggested the same thing! I guess that's the next logical step. Thank you!

Eastern or Western NC? I live on the coast. Its really sad that people would let horses get like this. Why not give them to someone who will give them a good home if you can't, for whatever reason, take proper care of them yourself? I just don't understand and never will. The Animal Control Officer heading his investigation just happens to be a close friend of his...sound fishy? It does to me...

I was gonna say get the media involved as well. We have a few stations here that LOVE doing this kind of thing. They call themselves Trouble Shooters or Problem Solvers, or something like that. Take a few picks (befores of course) in of this lovely guy and say.."There's 20 more of them where he came from and Animal Control is doing NOTHING. They LOVE this stuff.

BTW...I alway love a good before and after rescue story and I love love love Appys. You made my day.

That is wonderful that you got him out of there...poor guy! I can't believe the guy said he was "sick" and thats why he was thin - if he was sick he should have been getting veterinary attention! It makes me mad how ignorant some people are, and sounds like this guy is a real tool.
He is a nice looking horse, but geld him ASAP so he doesn't keep producing horses that might end up like the others on that guys property. People aren't able to afford to care for their horses now because they have too many and its too expensive.

I just have to say that there are not enough of us out there. I hear so much, "I don't like appys" and I can never figure out why. I have yet to ride one that wasn't just about as level headed as they come. Great ground covering walks, all business without attitude, great gaits. What's not to love.

Good rides all of them.
