So Why Can't she do this in The show Ring?

So... for some reason we do nice and pretty outside the show ring and once inside it Dreamer has a meltdown... I'm like no really she is good I swear she is... lol

this is us outside before the class

Here we are in the showring.....

Its not the other horses... because the pics of us outside the ring is while navigating around other horses who are loping or jogging or walking... mayhem... so I think she has stage fright

She seems like my mare.

Awsome outside the ring, but bad in.

I would try and set up a show situation at home and school her through her problems, and try and find what helps her relax. OR go to a show and purposely blow the class and school her in it, and teach her that inside the ring is the same. I had to do that with my mare at our first APHA show this year. And the next day she WAS better.

Oh I ended up schooling anyways after a little blow up episode I was like eh I'm not going to place so who cares lol. I think she just gets bored of it all... we will see because I have a hunter show this weekend her first one and I have a feeling she will behave well because she gets to do what she loves... jump lol. Maybe eventually she will be a rail horse but for now.. its all fun and games I think lol

A horse will only be about 75% of what they normally are when in the ring. It's the tension, the nerves, other horses and riders, noises and smells. The more you show, the better it gets.

My mare has gotten worse...she used to be WONDERFUL to show...now shes worse. But I think shes getting tired of it, so I am retiring her from the stuff I am doing with her now, and doing something different with her next year.

Oops, sorry I am taking away from the post!

I always get all hyped up once I enter the show ring...my horse is cute and quiet when we warm up and then, he gets hyped up too.
I know you said it probably isn't you, but you never know.
